Novae is a Solar energy technology company. They provide high-performance Solar Panel solutions designed to reduce energy costs, increase energy independence and contribute to a cleaner planet. They offer customized installations tailored to meet the needs of each customer. They also have an online presence where they share tips on social media on how to save energy and reduce climate damage.
They needed a complete custom identity design ahead of their brand launch. Including social media templates and advertising designs.
For the primary mark we wanted to create something that represented the brand’s core values: Progression, Sustainability and Longevity. We felt a star would match the brand name and solar theme. To show longevity and sustainability cut-outs were made in 2 of the corners to give the illusion that it is rotating like a spinning top, also like the Earth’s rotation, it “keep’s the planet spinning”. We then tilted the whole logo to emphasize moving forward and progression.
The wordmark was designed to be approachable and to complement the logomark by including the same cut-outs and angles.
To further link the branding to the theme, we designed the brand pattern to be like the grid on solar panels. Colours are inspired by leaves and trees, as leaves photosynthesise to create energy, as do Solar Panels. The green colours also emphasise the focus on climate protection and growth/progression.
