The Brief

Verta, born from the word vertical, more than just a name. It's a mindset, attacking, fast-thinking, not backing down, always moving upwards. It takes inspiration from Brazillian style football, where co-founder Ygor learned to play.

Verta Soccer Academy aims to teach this mindset to the next generation of football players.

They needed a visual identity that showcased this mindset as well as a website to show to potential customers.

The Solution

For the branding, we wanted to really get across the idea of verticality, attacking confidence, whilst also keeping an edge of sophistication, elegance and professionalism. It was also important to have links to USA and Brazil.

For the main mark we decided on a sleek, elegant eagle flying towards a soccer ball. This was the perfect representation of this mindset and ticked all the boxes. See the full mark breakdown below.

To extend the identity further, we created a full logo suite including a badge lockup so that the branding can adapt to different applications.

We created assets to be used as background patterns: A halftone arrow pattern to emphasise upward movement and a gold fleck texture that adds a further level of elegance and depth.

Then to make sure the branding remains consistent once applied to different scenarios, we put together a brand guidelines document.

Putting the new identity to the test, we also created a website, explaining the business and giving potential customers a place to contact.
